Permaculture is a design system that is about looking at the balance in ecological and natural systems and applying the patterns we find to human habitats.  At DP, we have created a Food Forest Garden which catches rainwater, produces free food for students and offers habitat to wildlife.  In the Permaculture club and in Mr. Gleason’s art classes, students are exposed to ways of propagating plants, native skills such as fire-by-friction and basketmaking, bird and animal tracking, and nature awareness development.
